When you travel to Montreal, whether for holiday or for work, it is really important for you to take pleasure in every moment of it. Keep from thinking too much on the things that you should do or should not do and instead plan your travel ahead of time so that you will not end up having an anxiety attack and sitting around in your fancy Montreal hotel. Below are useful guides that you could follow when you travel to avoid unanticipated problems from happening.
Carrying maps around looking confused, and stopping to look at monuments or buildings, obviously shows that you are from another town and may attract the wrong type of interest. So if you can, act a little more certain in your actions and if you are lost, be a good judge of people. For me, you can’t go too wrong with nice looking couples or older professionals. But still use caution.
Also, avoid pulling large amount of cash from your wallet. This will catch the bad guys’ attention and will make your travel more risky. Just project a low profile image and do not be too showy. You won’t believe the amount of times I have seen vacation goers do this. They pull out wads of big bills and even in a wealthy country, there are always people in need.
Always have an itinerary to guide you to the places that you plan to visit. Budget your cash for that day so that you will not end up short of money but also don’t pull too much from the ATM. It is recommended to bring a card with you so that you will have a backup in case you find something interesting to buy, but so that you aren’t toting far more than you need.
Avoid taking food or drinks given by a stranger. This may just put you in a state of great danger. The sweetest looking people may have hidden ulterior motives and the last thing you want is to end up drugged and unable to handle yourself.
Do not carry your passport around; leave it in the security of your hotel. A photocopy will suffice if local law states that you need to have it on your person. Passports are VERY hard to replace and you don’t want this headache.
