What are the best ski resorts in Montreal? The Montreal area which is in the Canadian province of Quebec is home to some of the top ski resorts in eastern North America, many of which are just about an hour or two driving from the city. You can really take your pick from trails and runs which will suit whatever level of difficulty you are interested in.

The area is has many lakes, rolling hills and beautiful round topped mountains. While the regions around Montreal aren’t the Rockies, it's still a super beautiful place to go either skiing or hiking.

You can either go east or north from the city for the main skiing areas. North of Montreal are the Laurentians, which have the highest peak in the area, Mont-Tremblant. This area is the most popular for skiing, especially when it comes to tourists. Over two million people visit Mont-Tremblant each year.

You can go skiing here all year round and it has received major media coverage from well-known publications as Ski Magazine and Forbes. It's located about 130km north of the Montreal, which is under a two hour drive on average.

As Montreal’s premiere ski spot, I’ll try to cover the most I can on Mont Tremblant’s ski runs. There are 95 trails with 14 lifts at the resort. Right now, none of these trails offer night skiing options. Of the 95 trails, 17 are beginner level, 31 are intermediate and 47 are classed as requiring expert ski experience. 649 meters (or 2,131 feet) is the longest vertical drop at Mont-Tremblant.

Mont Orford, Jay Peak, Bromont and Owl's Head are some of the other ski slopes I recommend you check out.

The ski resorts of Montreal should definitely not be forgetten and should be on your must-do list when you visit as there are so many which are convenient and great.
